Clay’s Choice & Cube Lattice were chosen after a vote by the family. Paper blocks were then colored and also voted on by kids and grandkids to determine the final color choices on the barn quilts.
This farm was homestead in 1879. The Katterhagens are the 4thgeneration living here. The barn is a Battenboard, European style. It comes from the Katterhagen’s German heritage. It has been home to dairy cows and horses. This generation quit milking in 2005 and have restored the barn. All are welcome to visit our barn.
Marie is an avid quilter, and after a visit to Iowa for a barn quilt trail she knew she wanted a barn quilt.
