One visitation person or family is allowed per month. To obtain assistance, bring proof of residence (residing in the original 793 school district) such as a driver’s license, photo ID or utility bill.

“Hands All Around” fits as a barn quilt for the Staples Host Lions because their motto is “We Serve!” This building was built in the early 50s by Ernie Johnson as a roller rink. Storm at Sea
Northwest Trail
26699 271st St. Ave. Verndale MN 56481
“ Storm at Sea” is a tribute to my late husband. He was in the Navy for 21 years. I had always planned to make him a quilt in this design because he had some real stories to tell about being at sea and the storms they sailed thru. If his things weren’t green – they had to be brown. He said 21 years of “blue” was enough!
My husband retired as a Navy Lt. Commander, his father sailed for the Merchant Marine from 1940 until the 70’s and hauled weapons during Viet Nam, his brother was in the Air Reserve and was on an scientific expedition to the South Pole when the ship he was riding sank, the youngest brother was Navy and served in the same Squadron as my husband. So, you can see that the Storm at Sea was a the only choice for this farmI also enjoy patterns that form illusions when observed from a different angle.
This is family land and he knew every rock personally. Most of them are in our retaining wall!
This barn quilt was painted by Beth Kern and Melissa Hurtig.

The Staples DQ is a third-generation family owned Dairy Queen.
It was built in the late 50s by the Hill & Anglin family and when Joan & Robert Doll purchased it in 1971 from Bill & Betty Peterson it was only a drive-up window service.
A semi-trailer truck crashed into the building in 1975 so the front of the building was rebuilt. Deb Doll Yoder (second generation) and Doyle Yoder became partners in 1976. In 1989, sit-in dining and a drive-through window was added. In 1997, the red, white and blue “blade sign” look was added, and finally in 2011 it was remodeled to its present look. Daughter, Staci Yoder Schultz, (third generation) is now the manager.
The Staples DQ is opened year-round offering all of the DQ products (cones, dilly bars, cakes, 5 Buck Lunch, and more!)
Barn quilt painted by art students at Staples Motley High School.
